Our Founder

Ernest William Brown was more than just a funeral director. His story is typical of some of the fine men that Hull has produced over the years. In his youth, he was a successful sportsman who played rugby for Hull FC and in later life, he switched to Hull Kingston Rovers and led them to the Yorkshire Cup under his chairmanship.

He served as a councillor on the City Council and was due to be given the honour of becoming Lord Mayor of the City, however this never come to pass due to his untimely death. The company is part of the fabric of Beverley Road and long may this last.
